VK-Trolling Release new flasher to Laxcup competition

VK-Products release the new bigger model VK-Salmon 2 Flasher. The new model is 24cm long and has many good strike colors. During testing this season in Finland this "Secret Weapon" produced excellent results. Just like the smaller model it has superb irregular movement causing fish to bite more often.
VK-Trolling will have a small amount of the new big flasher as well as the small one at the Laxcup Suzuki Competition, and those that are first can choose between many attractive colours. There will also be many colours of baitholders and some exciting new ones available there as well. The new big flasher will also be coming to our dealers soon!

Norwegian trouts

I got a mail today from Norway.

Jonny Bråta and Per Olav Kristiansen caught two nice trout. They weighed 8250g & 5100g . The last meal the two fish had was baitfish and VK-Baitholder color Chrome 727.

"The fish took a löja with a UV101 VK-baitholder with actiondisc. It hit the downrigger at 10 meters deep. I used the middle hole on the side of the baitholder at a speed of between 2.5-3 knots. The salmon was 97cm long and weighed 12030g"

Salmon 6,4kg Lake Vuohijärvi

The Finnish team Satunnaiset Saaliit who are the European Champions caught this nice 80cm Salmon in Lake Vuohijärvi. This is an outstanding fish for this lake. The fish took a purple black chrome VK-Baitholder. These guys are also planning to go to Sweden in December and fish the Laxcup Suzuki Vättern Competition.

Huge Salmon again!!!

Yesterday I saw some Swedish blogs Had news of a huge salmon over 12kg. The happy fisherman that caught it was Johan Cederborg and the fish’s weight was 12003g. That is the biggest salmon from lake Vänern for this winter season. Once again it was caught on a VK-Baitholder!!? Maybe we will get a Report from Johan? Johan if you read this take contact with me.

Huge Salmon from lake Vänern

"The salmon was 11,5 kg from lake Vänern. Salmon strike on löja with UV coloured VK-baitholder on the downrigger (it was a nice fight)
I used the centre hole on the side on the VK-rax!!
Later on the day I lost a nice Trout approx 9+ kg I have it in the landing net but it jumps out again and I lost it. (I was alone in the boat) That fish strike also VK-Baitholder.

Salmon +7kg

I got report from Wildwater Charter Kristian Keskitalo. He testing new VK-Products and having good results. Saturday He and customers catch nice, little over 7kg salmon with new VK2 Flasher and VK-baitholder, colour UV green. He also saying to catch few another salmons our products, but that was this season biggest for those.

Fishing in lake Saimaa

Yesterday me and my friend Jari fishing in hard and cold northwest wind in lake Saimaa. We got one 65cm Salmon and loose one strike. Fish take VK-baitholder with 80g lead. Head colour is new testing color Peanut Butter. My friend call me another lake and tell he got 68cm fat salmon, surface without any lead. His baithead color is glow orange splatter.

Good reports from Sweden

we got all the time lots of good fishing news to our products from Sweden and Finland. New VK2 flasher gives fantastic results and also our baithead users is very happy for their succses.

"I have test my new boat for the first time to day!
I had not so big faith in the fishing when i went out due to try out new boat for the first time and not so good reports from others of yesterdays fishing.
i started to rigg the rods and when nr 5 i was in water the first salmon strike 7,2 kg
leater i got a 8,1 kg salmon and lost three strikes of fish!!
The VK rax works fine!! best color today was UV color.

VK-Trolling Vänern tour

Team VK-Trolling came home earlier than planned, because of gale force winds and the Kållandsö Competition was postponed two weeks to November 7 - 9.

The Sunnanå Competition was also effected by strong winds, but the teams did manage to get 1.5 fishing days in. On the first competition day our team lost a huge salmon that we estimate being over ten kilos. On the first run it took fifty metres and during the long and exciting fifteen-minute fight it jumped out of the water three times. It ended up getting caught on another bait from one of our rods and suddenly it was gone! THAT’S FISHING! Our final position was 15th, but if we had landed that salmon we would have won the competition. Maybe next time it is caught it will be bigger and make someone very happyJ The big one took a clear UV coloured head with a 100g weight on the side planer. We had adjusted the bait to give us a small swimming circle.

We took a salmon trout weighing over 3kg in both the training day and the second day of the competition. We also had a number of bites and caught a few pike. We maybe might come back to Sweden to fish the Kinnekulle Competition in 2009.

We would like to thank everyone for the warm reception we got in Sweden and the competition officials for a well organised competition in tough conditions.

For VK-products this trip was very good. We met a lot of nice Swedish fishermen and we also got four new fishing stores who want to start selling our products. Below is the updated list of Swedish stores, but we are adding some more in the near future. Ask the shop near you. We are planning to do some special bait holders in the favourite Swedish colours for wobblers and plugs and hopefully they will be in the shops in Sweden soon. The new VK salmon2 flasher will be on the market in about 2-3 weeks, so ask for it in the store near you.

VK-Trolling is leaving to go fish Lake Vänern in Sweden

Team VK-Trolling is fishing Lake Vänern in Sweden October 16th-26th. We will compete in the Sunnanå Competition in Mellerud which is also the Nordic Championship October 17th-19th. The following weekend October 24th-26th we will compete in the Kållandsö Competition which has Spiken as the starting harbour. We will be blogging our results if the laptop computer and mobile broadband work together. We will be bringing some products with us so if anyone is interseted in the products they can come and speak to us there.

Report from lake Puulavesi

I got a mail from my friend and charter fisherman Mika Pihlaja who just had a guiding fishing trip on Lake Puulavesi. They took two really nice salmon 5,5kg & 6kg. Both of them took the same VK-baitholder glow color 840. Both fish took the bait on the surface without any weight at all. His customers were extremely happy.

The first model to come on the market is 15cm long, and the larger 25cm model will come at a later date. The New flasher is very easy to use, and it has a very light power to line. That is why it is very good for sideplaner use as well.
The new flasher comes in four different plastic colors ( UV, glow, clear, chartreuse), with 15 different tapes.
This summer's test fishing with the flasher gave fantastic results!

Yövesi meeting

On Sunday October 5th we had the Yövesi meeting in Lake Saimaa in Finland. The fishing was difficult and of the twenty three boats that participated only five of them caught either salmon or trout. We had a minimum size for salmon of 60cm and trout 55cm in this competition/meeting. Normally the minimum size in Yövesi is 50cm and the size under Finnish law is only 40cm for those fish!

"Another VK-Victory" Eloveto 2008

This year's European Champion Sami Heiskanen also won this weekend The Lake Vuohijärvi Trolling Competition. It was a two day competition with 115 boats. Sami and his team caught four salmon with a total weight of 8.175kg. Every fish they caught was on the side planers with a 30g sinker. The right baitholder for the day was the VK-Raksi colour Purple Black Chrome, which was the right recipe because all the fish were caught on that. Congratulations.

Team VK-Trolling takes 2nd place in the team three-boat competition in Lake Päijänne

Team VK-Trolling 1 took 2nd place in the Finnish Lake Päijänne competition. The fishing was difficult and only 25 of 163 boats caught fish in the two days. We tried some of our new colours and they seemed to be popular with the fish. Team VK-Trolling 2 took 9th place.

Huge rainbow trout caught!

My friend Tomi sent me an email with a picture of this huge rainbow trout he caught. He was rowing his boat in the Vuoksi River. The fish weighed 5.7kg and was 67cm long. It was caught on a purple splatter coloured VK-baitholder.

I received a mail from Seppo about a big brown trout he caught in Lake Inari. The fish weighed 7kg and took a VK-baitholder in the red, purple chrome colour
